Background

Originally from New Zealand, Ryan joins our team as a Physiotherapist with interests in rugby and sports injuries.

Ryan studied a Bachelor of Physical Education with Honours specialising in sports biomechanics at the University of Otago. Ryan subsequently made the move over the ditch to work as a post-graduate sports biomechanist at the Australian Institute of Sport, where he had experience working in high performance sport for both para- and able-bodied athletes. Ryan went on to complete a Masters in Physiotherapy at the University of Canberra.

Ryan comes from a strong sporting background playing high level rugby union, and has first-hand experience with the rehabilitation of sporting injuries. This has helped influence his drive to help rehabilitate others to get back to playing sport. Ryan has particular interests in acute sports related injuries, lower limb biomechanics, injury prevention strategies and chronic overuse injury management.

Outside of the clinic, Ryan enjoys playing rugby, watching sports, over-eating, ocean swimming and going to the gym.
