Dave completed his Bachelor of Coaching Science, Bachelor of Sports Management and a Masters of Exercise Science at the University of Canberra from 2006-2012. He was awarded the Dean’s Award in 2012 as well as the Post-Graduate Exercise Science Award for both years of his Masters degree. While completing his studies he was working in the Sports Science department at the ACT Academy of Sport and Australian Institute of Sport.
Soon after completing his University qualifications, Dave realised his greater interest in working with the general public, and so since 2012 he has worked in private physiotherapy clinics in Canberra. Dave has an extensive experience working with all population groups: including elite athletes and local sporting clubs, chronic pain and chronic fatigue management, and pre and post-surgical rehabilitation. Dave has a particular interest in sports injury rehab for overuse injuries, such as tendinopathies, as well as pelvic and scapular dysfunction. He offers in-depth musculoskeletal and biomechanical assessments for all patients to identify weaknesses and imbalances, followed by specific training and strength programs to assist with achieving the goals for each patient.
Dave is passionate about creating an active society, whether it be motivating sedentary patients to commence regular physical activity, assisting high performing athletes to return to sport after injury, or assisting athletes to perform at a higher level.
When Dave is not busy looking after his patients, he is out training and competing in long course triathlon and running races. He is a 7 x Ironman finisher with a PB of 9:33, finished 4th overall at Ultraman Australia in 2019, finished too many 70.3 Half Ironmans to count with a PB of 4:20, and ran a 3:03 marathon and hopes to break the sub 3hr soon.
