Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a common health issue experienced by women. It is when the cells that line the uterus are found in other areas. It is a progressive condition and is often genetic. It can influence fertility and can present with symptoms including:

  • Pain (sexual related, abdominal/pelvic, when using toilet, ovulation)
  • Bleeding (before period)
  • Bladder and bowel problems (bleeding, increased urge to urinate)
  • Bloating
  • Lethargy
  • Mood change
  • Pelvic floor spasm

Our specialised women’s health physiotherapists can help address secondary complications that arise from endometriosis. These include manual therapy to release tight structures, exercises prescription and pain management strategies.
