Rowan is a Canberra local with a background of competing as an elite junior triathlete, including representing Australia at two World Championships. Rowan graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with First Class Honours from Charles Sturt Unversity in Albury in 2003. Since graduation he has been working as a private practice physiotherapist. He spent the first five years working at two different practices in the Newcastle area where he worked with many of the regions top sporting teams and individuals. Rowan has since spent short stints working for private practices in Goulburn and Canberra before joining the SportsCare team at in Dickson in April 2010. Rowan currently splits his time between the SportsCare Dickson clinic and his role as Clinical Educator at the University of Canberra.
Rowan is in his third season as team physiotherapist for the Belconnen Magpies Football Club (AFL). Rowan has a special interest in sports and orthopaedic physiotherapy, the biomechanics of running and cycling, knee injuries, core stability and strengthening as well as hydrotherapy. Rowan is looking at pursuing further training in sports physiotherapy and the use of dry needling / acupuncture in physiotherapy.
